It's That Time Again...

Why is it that every holiday has to involve food? More specifically, SUGAR?? I mean, come on. Easter? Chocolates. Halloween? Nothing but candy. Thanksgiving? Pie. Christmas? Oh, way too many to name. And now here we are, staring Valentine's Day down. Another candy holiday. This one is the WORST for me, because I become addicted to those dang candy conversation hearts. I have a bag at work, a bag at home in my nightstand, and... I think there's even some in my primary bag! Oh, I think this is a sickness...

To go right along with the theme of the month (being LOOOOVE, not just candy), yesterday I went to a Bridal Fair at the Sandy Expo Center with my friend Audrey - even though neither of us is engaged, we were curious about it. It was actually really fun! A little awkward, because all the people at the booths kept asking us if one of us was engaged, and when our "big day" was. Neither Audrey or I had it in us to make up some giant story about being engaged (I couldn't have done it with a straight face anyway), so we just went from booth to booth getting free stuff and giggling at all the young brides dragging around pained-looking grooms, and oooohh-ing and aahhhh-ing at the cakes and dresses and decorations. There was also a fashion show, which proved to be really entertaining.

The flower girls were really cute, too:
The grooms and groomsmen were funny, dancing around the stage:
They had some really fun bridesmaid dresses and colors:
It was just really fun to watch!
I was so overwhelmed just looking at all the booths with china, flowers, photographers, cakes, catering, invitations and announcements, dresses & tuxedos, jewelry, and decorations, that I decided that when I get married, I'm eloping. That's just WAAAAAYYYY too much to do.
But it's fun to look at! :)

I've always wondered what those fair's are like. Sweet, now it's almost like I virtually went with you... except I didn't get any free stuff. What kind of free stuff do they give you? Did you get to taste test wedding cakes?

1) it IS a sickness-- those candy conversation hearts are kinda gross, haha.

2) the bridal fair: fascinating. Weddings are no doubt big business in Utah, with plenty of competition... interesting way to do some marketing... at a trade show. Do they have "wedding" trade shows anywhere else in the world?!

Those pictures are really fun! I am jealous of your fun experience! And I definitely vote FOR the elopment (as long as we all get to throw you a HUGE party on your return).

K first of all... I am SO with you on the candy hearts thing. I ADORE them! Definitely my favorite thing about Valentines day. Second, I love bridal fairs! And you got to see a fashion show! How superb! I went with all my sisters when Sharon and Charlotte were engaged. They both won some pretty cool things like free lazer hair removal and time shares. I guess it's worth it to get married?

1. You BETTER NOT elope!! I want to be there!
2. Seriously, I've consumed more chocolate in the last 2 weeks than should be FDIC approved. These candy-filled holidays are killing me.
3. I think it's so awesome you went to a bridal fair. I went to one with my mom (no way Jared would've gone with me) and there was a lot of cool free stuff. Did you get a coupon for an up-do?? Go get your hair done :)
4. Love you, you are hilarious!
