Photography by Emily

Okay, my cousin (or, my cousin Jon's wife - so yeah, she's my cousin) is a genius with a camera. We met up last weekend for a photo shoot and hung out together taking pictures and talking for hours. In spite of the wind and rain and my rather limited wardrobe choices, she took these awesome shots:

I always considered myself to NOT be photogenic; I still don't think I am. But like I said, Emily is a genius with her camera. Plus, she told me something that made me stop and think: "There is no such thing as a bad picture of someone." Unless you're making a stupid face or have your eyes closed or something, and even then you're showing your personality. You can definitely see my personality in some of these... I've got such a cheesy grin sometimes. But I can't wait to see some of the others she took! Thanks, Em! You are the BEST!

Haircut

So I keep trying to post a picture of my new haircut on Facebook, but it's not working... stupid Facebook. Anyway, here's my new-ish look (and a really cute baby Addie on my lap):

It's an A-line cut, so it's a bit shorter in the back. This is shortly after I got it done, so that's the stylist's handiwork, there's no way I've been able to re-create it. (Who can?? I think most hair stylists are magicians, no one can ever do the same thing with their hair that the stylist has been able to do. Unless you go to a beauty school and get a newbie who just chops your hair off and gives you Lady Gaga bangs, right Mug? You way lucked out, though, because it turned out looking FANTASTIC on you.)

Fun times, I love doing new stuff with my hair. Oh yeah, and I got some honey-gold colored highlights too. As soon as I get more pictures, I'll post them. I don't even look the same as the picture on the sidebar of my blog!! Yikes! And for those that haven't been able to take your eyes off the cute baby, here's another irresistible Addie shot.

That's Aunt Melissa swinging her in the hammock in the backyard. She loved it.

Um, Those Are Mine, Thanks

I can't decide if this is stress-related, OCD, or... just plain nuts. It's just another "thing."

In my job, I use A LOT of paper clips. I go through boxes of them, mostly because in my department we're copy-happy, killing forest after forest for paper. We make copies, scan, print, scan, make copies... you get the idea. Most don't like their paper stapled because it's a pain to take the staple out and use paperclips anyway.

I somehow decided that I want to use the same paperclips over and over and over. I get these really cool shiny colored ones that happen across my desk every once in a while, and I collect them. The paperclips I have are somehow leaner and hold papers together more firmly. I freak out a little in my head if I lose one. If I leave any of them on the copier, I'll go back there to retrieve them, rather than just get out a new box.

I like my paperclips!

It's just a "thing." Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go look for my mind. I seem to have lost it.
